Alexis Forabosco - and a video that was never done...

Alexis Forabosco was sure of my favourite dancers at the Vienna State Ballet - I have commented on his performances many times during the last years - a very special dancer with a very strong stage presence and appeal; a very manly quality that is becoming very rare in ballet.

Many of his performances, as for example, the Bolshevik in “Giselle Rouge”, the warden in “Manon” just to name a few, have an unforgettable spot in my mind.

He started a project once; a ballet video with many of his male colleagues at the Opera. Unfortunately, it was never concluded and the world will not see it… Many dancers like Kirill Kourlaev, Mihail Sosnovschi, Dumitru Turan, Sascha Tcacenco and Alexis have left the company and even if so many are still there (Denys Chrevychko, Eno Peci, Robert Gabdullin and many others) it’ll never be the same - never this same “constellation” - yes, I use this word on purpose: a constellation, astronomically speaking, is a group of Stars…
