Be Welcome.

Here it is all about dance - contemplated from many different angles - and about looking at things differently.

The Wind (Royal Ballet)

The Wind (Royal Ballet)

Some months ago, spending a quiet afternoon at home, I decided to watch the silent film "The Wind" (based on Dorothy Scarborough's classic novel) with Lillian Gish again.

I was quite surprised because I kept thinking all the time that this film could make a beautiful ballet - and then, a very special scene with Gish, towards the end of the film, confirmed my thoughts: there she was, with Lars Hanson in a scene that reveals her as a very distraught woman and the way she, they played the scene… yes, perhaps one of the best dancing pieces, ever!

Now I quietly and humbly listen to the talented Arthur Pitta saying the same thing about a piece he choreographed and of whose existence I had no idea… I am positively and happily surprised.

P.S. I am extremely glad that I had shared these thoughts, about “The wind” being turned into a ballet, with my friends Iryna Tsymbal, Alexandra Young and Laura Edmunds BEFORE I realized that it had already been made into a ballet.
